Alcoa Inc. is an industrial company in the US, the world’s eighth-largest producer of aluminum as of 2018. In addition, the company mines bauxite, produces alumina, aluminum products, and alloys.
Total market cap of Alcoa is over $30 billion, the stock is traded on NYSE. Investors should be really careful when working with this instrument: the quotes are very volatile as seen from the example of 2015 when the price went down 30% due to a decline in aluminum consumption. Demand for the company’s products affects the production rates and the stock price.
However, due to the high volatility, the instrument is considered quite profitable. The price movement can be predicted using technical analysis, however, it’s also important to pay attention to news and events related to the company.
